Throughout the years, China has become the first civil aircrafts importer in the world.

The market will represent 2700 to 2900 aircrafts by 20 years, according to Airbus and Boeing forecasts.

The A320 from Airbus will be assembled in Tianjin at the beginning of 2009.

The new Chinese aeronautical plan is aimed at making the commercial Aeronautics industry autonomous in the end.

Some relevant points :

- March 2008: AVIC 1 and AVIC 2, the two biggest local actors in the industry have merged in order to share their resources.

- End of 2009: ARJ-21 Local Jet will be produced. This aircraft has 70 to 90 seats and is 40% made with foreign components. Its sales forecasts go around 3700 units by 2020.

- Before 2010: a 150-seat long-distance aircraft will be launched.
